Legalization of documents with an Apostille

Sworn notaries with an Apostille legalise public documents that have been issued in
Latvia and are intended to be used in a member state of the Hague Convention of 5
October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public
Documents.
Legalisation of a document means confirmation of the genuineness of the undersigned
official’s signature and the seal of the issuing institution, so that public document drawn
up in one country would become legally valid in another.
