Dealing with inheritance matters
Documents to be submitted:
- passport or ID card of the heir;
- death certificate or a document issued by foreign authorities confirming the registration of death of the deceased;
- documents confirming the kinship or marriage (birth or marriage certificate, a statement of the Registry Office or the State Historical Archives regarding the fact of birth, marriage or death, a court ruling concerning the establishment of kinship or marriage);
- appraisal by a certified appraiser or an expert of relevant sector concerning the movable property to be registered;
- appraisal by the heir or a certified appraiser or an expert of relevant sector with respect to the movable property not to be registered;
- appraisal by a certified appraiser with respect to a company of an individual merchant, an individual company, farm or fishing farm;
- a will or an inheritance contract, if any;
- a permission of the orphan’s court to accept or decline the inheritance and an inventory (list of an estate) prepared by a sworn bailiff or the orphan’s court when the estate is located outside a city and the heir is a minor or other person having restricted legal capacity;
- a notarially certified power of attorney if the heir is represented by an authorised person.
